  • Alliance of Artists' Communities - The Alliance of Artists' Communities, a nation-wide consortium and professional organization for the field, advances the role artist communities play in the evolution of new ideas and art.

 

  • Corporation of Yaddo - Yaddo offers residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following media: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video.

 

  • Djerassi - Residencies are awarded competitively to artists in the disciplines of choreography, literature, music composition, visual arts, and media arts/new genres.

 

  • The MacDowell Colony - The MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire was founded in 1907 to provide a place where creative artists could find freedom to concentrate on their work. This remains its guiding purpose today. Writers, Composers, Visual Artists, Photographers, Printmakers, Filmmakers and Architects come to the Colony each year from all parts of the United States and abroad."

 

  • Millay Colony - Provides one-month residencies for writers, composers, and visual artists in Austerlitz, NY. Facilities include private studios and separate sleeping quarters. Information includes applications and guidelines.

 

  • NFAA Fellowships in the Visual Arts - This four-month program is awarded by the National Association for Advancement in the Arts. It is given to emerging, professional artists who have completed their formal education. An exhibition by the fellows is installed annually at the Corcoran. NFAA provides each fellow with an art studio and living quarters in Miami Beach, Florida, a $1,000 monthly stipend and funds for art supplies.

 

  • Ragdale Foundation - The Ragdale Foundation is an artists' retreat located in beautiful Lake Forest, Illinois. Situated on 30 acres of virgin prairie, Ragdale provides living and working space for writers, visual artists and composers.

 

  • The Vermont Studio Center - Founded in 1984 to support the making of art as the communication of spirit through form, the Studio Center is an international creative community dedicated to serving artists and writers in a stimulating, supportive work environment free of judgment, hierarchy, and competition.

 

  • Virginia Center for the Creative Arts - The Virginia Center for Creative Arts provides a supportive environment for the world's best visual artists, writers, and composers to pursue their creative work. A residential retreat in pastoral surroundings, the VCCA serves artists of all cultural and economic backgrounds.
