  • Healthfinder -- Sponsored by the United States government, this site has links to selected online publications, clearinghouses, databases, web sites, and support and self-help groups.

 

 

 

  • National Health Information Center -- Provides the Health Information Resources Database, a searchable index of federal government operated clearinghouses and information centers that distribute publications, provide referrals and answer questions. Also includes a list of organizations offering toll free telephone services.

 

 

 

  • National Library of Medicine -- Information on hot topics, databases and electronic information sources, news, NLM publications and special information programs.

 

  • New York State Department of Health -- Lists certified health care facilities in New York State, toll free phone numbers, consumer fact sheets on infectious diseases, statistical data, and more.

 

  • OSHA -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has regulations, standards, and work-related health information.

 

 

  • World Health Organization -- The Health Topics and Policy section (found by selecting Information Sources) has information on diseases, environment and lifestyle, family and reproductive health, and health policies.
