- Office of the City Historian - This office offers Rochester History quarterly, plus assistance and referrals in research other than genealogy.
- Office of the County Historian - The office of the Monroe County Historian answers mail, telephone and in-person requests for information on county history, government, development and residents.
History of Rochester
- Rochester History - A journal that covers the history of Rochester and western New York. All articles are available on-line - from 1939 to the present.
- Rochester Images - The Rochester Images database includes historical and contemporary pictures, maps and manuscripts from Rochester and Monroe County.

Museums
- Rochester Museum and Science Center - This site includes links to the Strasenburgh Planetarium, Cumming Nature Center, the Gannett School of Science & Man, and Eisenhart Auditorium.
- Strong National Museum of Play - This museum is a treasure trove of 500,000 objects documenting everyday life in America from 1820 to the present. Included is the world's largest collection of dolls.
- George Eastman House - Provides links to information on the museum's Motion Picture, Photography & Technology Collections. Also provided is information about George Eastman.
- Memorial Art Gallery - Affiliated with the University of Rochester, the gallery contains objects from antiquity to contemporary works of art. This site includes information on the gallery's many programs, events, teacher resources and the permanent collection.
- Susan B. Anthony House - This site includes brief information about the Susan B. Anthony House and its upcoming special events.
- The New York Museum of Transportation - Two all-volunteer museums have joined to provide an interesting and educational experience featuring transportation history of this part of New York State.
