Museums and Galleries
- The Albright-Knox Art Gallery - The Gallery enjoys a worldwide reputation as an outstanding center of modern art. The Gallery is rich in post-war American an European art. Abstract expressionism, pop art, and art of the 1970s through the end of the century are well represented.

- The Cloisters - The Cloisters house the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection of art and architecture from medieval Europe. Best known for the beautiful tapestries on display, the Cloisters also offer architectural installations, a series of special programs, and fantastic views of the Hudson.
- The Frick - The Collection consists of over 1,100 works of art (paintings, sculpture, works on paper and decorative arts) of international quality.
- Hirshhorn Museum - Part of the Smithsonian Institution, the Hirshhorn is the nation's museum of modern and contemporary art and collects the art of our time.
- J. Paul Getty Museum - The Getty Museum collections comprise seven areas of art: Greek and Roman antiquities, Medieval manuscripts, European paintings, sculpture, drawings and decorative arts, and photographs.
- Memorial Art Gallery - Affiliated with the University of Rochester, the gallery contains objects from antiquity to contemporary works of art.
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art - In formation since 1870, the Metropolitan Museum's collection contains more than two million works of art from ancient through modern times.
- MoMA: The Museum of Modern Art - MoMA contains more than 100,000 works in a variety of mediums, divided into six collecting areas: architecture and design, drawings, film and video, painting and sculpture, photography, and prints and illustrated books.
