- Center for Photographic Art - A non-profit organization, the organization endeavors to promote a better understanding and awareness of many different approaches to the photographic medium.
- Daguerreian Society - A gallery of 19th century imagery as well as the work of modern daguerreians.
- George Eastman House - Located in Rochester, NY, the museum is an educational institution that tells the story of photography and motion pictures. It displays the art, technology, and impact of photography and motion pictures over 150 years, and interprets the life of George Eastman.
- Flickr- An online user centric/defined archive of photographic images, tales, and community.
- A History of Photography- Contains portraits of many of the most important photographers of the period, and provides information on some of the most significant processes used during the early days of photography.
- International Center for Photography - ICP is committed to exhibiting fashion photography, holography, video art and computer-based works as well as fine art photography of all kinds.
- Library of Congress Daguerreotypes - This is part of the "American Memory" site from the Nation's Library. The collection consists of more than 725 photographs dating from 1839 to 1864. Portrait daguerreotypes produced by the Mathew Brady studio make up the major portion of the collection.
- Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Reading Room - The prints and photographs collections today number more than 14 million images. Included are photographs, fine and popular prints and drawings, posters, and architectural and engineering drawings. The collections are particularly rich in materials produced in, or documenting the history of, the United States and the lives, interests and achievements of the American people.
- Museum of Photographic Arts- A nonprofit organization, MoPA provides exhibitions, films, and workshops devoted to the photographic arts.
- Smithsonian Photography- The Smithsonian Institute provides access to their photographic archives and links to ongoing exhibitions.
