Religious Society of Friends: The Quakers

 

• Pendle Hill Quaker Center - Pendle Hill is a Quaker center for study and contemplation in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. It has founded in 1930, to be of service to the Religious Society of Friends, to like-minded persons, and to the world. Pendle Hill offers weekend conferences and retreats, five day courses and a resident study program consisting of three 10 week terms each year.

The Shakers

 

• Sabbathday Lake - Sabbathday Lake is the only remaining active Shaker community. It is made up of the 18 well maintained buildings of the Church Family. Known as "Chosen Land" to the Shakers, it was established in 1794. Featured at this site are Museum, Shaker Store, Library, Exhibits, Guided Tours and Special Programs. Exhibits include: Shaker furniture, tin and woodenware, folk art, textiles, early American tools and farm implements.
